message contents:   I have just found out that a distant relative, James Tough, was the gardener at Swift's House, Stoke Lyne. He died there in 1877 from 'enteric fever'. His death was witnessed by Alan John Damant. On visiting the church yesterday, the first grave I came across was that of Allan Damant and his wife Mary. I will be going back soon to look for James' gravestone (when it isn't raining), maybe it is one along the wall. Great site.

message contents:   Just found your website - lovely to see the beautiful churches that my ancestors must have attended - the STOCKLEYS were mainly resident at Stratton Audley & Bicester, but records also show that they were at Fringford and just over the county boundary at Padbury. Beautiful photos. Many thanks.

message contents:   I have just found out that a distant ancestor, Mathieu Fanjoux, was the rector in Fringford from April 1697 until February 1698, when he died at age 36. Also that a Nathanial Ffanjoux [sic] had some type of appointment there from 7 June 1697. I don't know who he was, where he came from, nor what happened to him. I wonder whether he is buried in the church grounds. The church is beautiful, from photos I have seen of it on the web. It makes me curious to return to the Midlands. I spent a year in Coventry (1959-1960)but had no interest in family history then. Best wishes. Emery Fanjoy Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

message contents:   Whilst researching my maternal family line of Paxton's I came across a John, who was born around 1769 in Finmere. He married a Katherine - then, it appears their offspring were born in Hinton. I was reading the history of Finmere, through this site, and found more interesting articles on the Paxton's. Does anyone have anymore information on John, his siblings or relatives. Would be most gratefully appreciated.
